“Museum projects have complicated design and fabrication contracts. Everything is custom and many contracts are written even before a concept is developed. Barbara does a great job of anticipating surprises and negotiating contracts that protect the museum from the risks of construction.”

Story
Punt Consulting Group was hired to write a series of highly unusual contracts for the City of Manhattan, Kansas, which was managing this new museum prior to its opening. The City already had a working relationship with the architectural firm Verner Johnson, Inc., and had selected the design firm of Gerard Hilfterty & Associates as a subcontractor to the architect. Punt Consulting Group worked with all parties to negotiate terms and fees to realize the project’s vision. We also collaborated with the team members to develop a comprehensive set of deliverables that helped City managers, unfamiliar with the ins-and-outs of museum development, make informed decisions about the project, which had no staff until late in the development process.
