Barbara Punt, CEO

Barbara Punt founded Punt Consulting Group in 2003 after a distinguished career in museums, bringing her unique “insider/outsider” experience as a project manager, exhibit designer, and operations manager to museum projects throughout North America.

As a project manager, Barbara thrives in the background, sweating the details, solving problems, and supporting your vision so that you can focus on your institution as a community resource and business. She handles complex situations with the grace and tact of a diplomat, the flexibility of a juggler, the encouragement of a cheerleader, and the detailed attention of an accountant. And, after 25 years of experience, she does it all with the compassion and humor of someone who has been there, done that!

Above all, Barbara finds joy in contributing to something bigger than any one team or project—a richer world of knowledge and experience for the millions that museums serve.

A published author and active contributor to the museum field, Barbara has presented more than 20 sessions about various aspects of project management at conferences for the American Association of Museums, Association of Science-Technology Centers, Association of Zoos & Aquariums, Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums, and the Association of Children’s Museums.

In her spare time, Barbara volunteers at Guide Dogs for the Blind, and is currently co-raising Minter, the Wonder Dog.
