Clark Planetarium
“Clark Planetarium’s exhibits modernization project involved making multi-million dollar decisions with serious long term consequences for our visitors and organization. We needed expert guidance identifying and selecting the right firm to help us design, fabricate, and install these new experiences. We needed an RFP that communicated our organizational goals well, and solicited proposals from the best prospective contractors. Barbara’s assistance was invaluable both in writing the RFP itself, and in making the final selection of an exhibits firm for our project.”

Story
The Clark Planetarium hired Punt Consulting Group to conduct research on the state of the museum field relating to exhibits on astronomy and planetary science, and to suggest strategies for refurbishing a 7,500 sf exhibition gallery that serves more than 400,000 visitors per year. Punt Consulting Group wrote the RFP, ran the selection process, and negotiated the design/build contract with the winning firm.
Punt Consulting Group also helped the Planetarium plan new mobile technologies to enhance its exhibit experience, and researched the marketability of reproducible exhibits to expand revenue streams.
