Serving over 2 million people since opening in 2009, the Connecticut Science Center features more than 165 interactive exhibits in 10 galleries and includes educational labs and a 3D theater. The Science Center has embarked on several major building projects to add new hands-on laboratory space and new subject areas to the existing galleries and public spaces. Exhibits will include a Butterfly Conservatory, Earth Systems & Human Impact, Genomics, and a redo of the 140’ tall atrium to include hanging elements and interactive exhibits.
As Owner’s Representative, Punt Consulting Group is responsible for running the selection processes for the exhibit designers and fabricators, negotiating their contracts, managing the firms (in conjunction with CSC staff), developing and tracking the entire project’s budgets and schedules, and troubleshooting problems. In addition to all of this, Punt Consulting Group has conducted research into a variety of areas to support projects related to both the new exhibits and the traveling exhibit program.
